Alpine Wine & Cheese:
Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria
Few cheese lovers doubt that some of the best cheese comes from the Alps of Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. But not many wine lovers are familiar with the fantastic wines that the same region has to offer. Gruner Veltliners of Austria are among the most food friendly whites that yet only sommeliers seem to know about. Germany makes some of the world's highest quality Rieslings that are great matches with any cheese. With the climate change favoring cooler regions and with advancements in winemaking, these regions now produce also great, albeit lesser known reds such as Lagrein and Teroldego from Italy, Zweigelt and Blaufrankisch from Austria and Pinot Noir from Germany. This is probably the best wine & cheese class we have on offer. Join us with sommeliere Dilek Caner and fromager Chris Munsey for a great experience.
8 different wines and 6 different cheeses will be tasted.
