Champagne Seminar Mini Series
This series consists of two seminars that you can take together or individually. Champagne Seminar I: House Styles It is true that now there is a significant number of small growers who make fabulous stuff. On the other hand, the reputable Grandes Marques will always have their place. We will focus on grower Champagne in the next seminar but for this session we want to understand the Grandes Marques. When you buy a bottle of non-vintage Veuve Clicquot, Tattinger or Bollinger, you are buying a certain style (wine list is below). And if you want to choose the best Champagne for each occasion, you’ll want to know what the main styles are and which ones resonate best with you. In this seminar, we’ll introduce you to some of the best and widely available brands, while explaining how Champagne is made, why it is different than other sparkling wines, the factors that affect its taste and how to best pair Champagne with food. We will also go over reading and understanding Champagne labels. We will be tasting most of the major Champagne brands and pairing them with fantastic cheeses from Murray’s throughout the discussion. Join this session if you’d like to:

Champagne Seminar II: Best Grower Champagnes A large Champagne house makes wines by buying and blending grapes from different vineyards. Recently, more and more grape growers who used to sell their grapes to the Champagne Houses started to make their own Champagnes. For the past couple of years, these Champagnes started attracting quite a bit of attention due to their uniqueness and their attractive quality-price ratios. In this class, we will showcase some of the greatest grower Champagnes available in New York, while talking about the Champagne market and how that affects the taste of what we drink. You will get to know some of the best values in the world of Champagne and get to know the insider stories behind the growers as well. Join this session if you’d like to:
