Expensive vs. Inexpensive: Is Quality Obvious in a Wine?

Do you think it will always be a better experience when you order the more expensive wine in a restaurant?  Can you really tell what is expensive and what is not?  Is quality obvious in a wine?

Come and see for yourself on Friday, Feburary 13th and also learn about the factors that make a wine expensive.  Is it just marketing or is there something fundamental to it?  We will taste and discuss very inexpensive and very expensive wines side by side.  To make things more interesting, we'll taste them blind to see what the group thinks before knowing the price. This is a one-of-a-kind tasting, not to be missed.

8 wines will be tasted, 4 of which will be in the $50-$100 range. Crackers and matching cheeses will be served.
